Along the way, I learn lessons from the little things in life. My wife and I have always had an appreciation for the ordinary things around us. Many years ago, my young family and I lived in a town-house with a box hedge outside the bedroom window and on that box hedge was a Praying Mantis predator insect. We had bought the eggs from a local nursery to add some organic pest control to our little garden. With young kids playing in the garden, we didn’t want pesticides and chemical residues on the plants and vegetables. To our delight, one little Mantis grew up over a summer to become as long as my index finger. We became very fond of watching him through the bedroom window and named him Manny. Manny was almost comical to watch, as he would so professionally and efficiently catch and eat the bugs on the hedge. We were glad when he would eat the moths and icky bugs, but sad when he became so fond of the honey bees which would visit the white flowers on the hedge for nectar. Manny could go through as many as 6 bugs in an hour on a good warm day. He was enigmatic in his skillful ability to blend in and wait until the bugs would get right into range and then SNATCH them, dismember them, rip them open and eat their meaty bits in merely a second. It was fascinating to watch. I marveled at how the moths, flies and bees were so easily lured by his patience. He could sit right in front of them, looking so still and innocent, then snatch one… two… three bugs in a couple of seconds and scarf them down. No amount of resistance was ever useful, once Manny snatched the poor little things they were history.
Then, one day, Manny had a rough encounter. You see, there was a new group of visitors to the hedge – large black and yellow bumble bees. They had the behavior of honey bees, but these guys were different. Manny had grown accustomed to being efficient at catching and killing everything he fancied. Manny caught one of these, larger and more aggressive, bumble bees. He was lucky the first time: although it struggled harder than any other, it lost to his effective dismembering skill. But, Manny didn’t notice that THIS little fellow was a lot stronger than the rest. I guess it must have tasted good because he immediately wanted another one. Maybe the thrill of eating something so formidable and strong gave him a rush of confidence. Whatever it was, Manny made the mistake of trying another one right away. This was the biggest mistake of Manny’s life, because he was quickly locked in a life and death struggle with a bumble bee which had NO intention of losing. This one gave Manny more stings and bites than he could handle. The struggle went on for a few minutes. At some points it looked like Manny would win, as the bumble bee lost a leg to his sharp mandibles. But then Manny lost an antennae and he got stung in his arm joints and at the top of his thorax. He got completely thrashed by the bumble bee. In the end, Manny gave up and released him.
The bumble bee hadn’t been looking for a fight, so he fled and never came back. Manny was never the same. He didn’t eat again for a couple of days. When he did eat, it was never any kind of a bee; and he was always particularly still whenever a bumble bee came near his flower stand. He didn’t want to get into that fight again – for it was too painful, too ferocious.
This is very much like the struggle of Western Civilization against the Radicalized Islamic terrorists. Most people are unaware of the fact that Radical Islam has been systematically attacking nations and cultures around the world for 1700 years. We have been lied to and told that the US and Britain have been the bad guys and attacked them in the current conflict; but it is exactly the opposite of the truth. Western nations have been defending themselves against this relentless tyrannical monster for 17 centuries. Like Manny, the exotic predator,
Radical Islam is patient and doesn’t always make their intentions and presence known. But, search out the facts of recent and ancient history and you will see that they have an unequivocal agenda: World domination and the destruction or suppression of all other peoples, all other thought, all other beliefs. For, they are, in their own mind, the only legitimate culture and the only legitimate rulers of the world. For Radical Islam, it is not a matter of whether they should conquer us, but how long it will take. They have no intention of allowing any people any freedom of thought or any freedom of practice in the long run.
President Bush was wrong in this respect: they do not envy our freedom, they despise it; they wish to rip it apart and consume it. Today, there are 14 wars and conflicts in the world. Every single one of them is being promoted as a struggle for Islam, by Radical Moslem leaders. You didn’t know that? Yes, it’s true. While some of them have involved European nations such as Serbia and Chechnya; most of the conflicts are between Asian and African peoples. In most cases, the Radical Wahhabists are either directly attacking other people, or they are doing so by proxy as supporters of tyrannical religious regimes. Actually, it is fair to say that there are 14 fronts, to a single war, being waged by Islam against the world. With little or no defenses, and no support from the west, most of these people are at the mercy of the patience and efficiency of Islam. They will systematically dismember the societies and cultures of those people until they are consumed by the Islamic culture.
Like the Praying Mantis, Radical Islam has the appearance of being placid and peaceful, momentarily, until you get close to it. Then, without apparent reason, they strike and dismember and consume societies. Look historically at any place where war has been fought with Islam in history. What was the cause? What was the conflict? What was the result? In each case where the people were successful at repelling Islam, it came after great conflict and tribulation upon their lands and societies, until they had to become MORE ruthless and more vicious than Islam in order to repel it. Appeasement has never worked; Not in one circumstance.
Spain had hundreds of years of oppression under the Moors until King Ferdinand was able to organize the Spanish to defeat them and then purge the Iberian Peninsula of Islam. The Crusaders of western Europe fought repeatedly over centuries for the former Christian and Jewish held holy lands, until a stalemate left the situation with Christian and Moslem control of Jerusalem divided by a truce. It took that much commitment to prevent it’s permanent fall into Islamic hands. World war I and World war II were both fought in the holy lands as much as in Europe to prevent the loss of those lands into permanent Islamic control. In 15th century Spain, they stung the monster so severely that he gave up and went away. In Libya during the 80s,
Ronald Reagan stung the monster enough to shock him for a while. In Kashmir, the Indians are still trying to sting the monster. In places like Sudan and Somalia and Eritrea, the monster is dismembering and consuming native people like so many tasty little bugs. In the cases where nations have sought appeasement, capitulation and surrender to Islam, they have been over run by it.
Consider Afghanistan: for 300 years they fought Islamic invaders from Arabia and Persia. After surrendering, their 3000 year old native culture was mostly eradicated. There are 7 languages in Afghanistan, but today the unifying language is Arabic – a non-native tongue, because every male must learn to read the Koran in Arabic.
Consider the Chaldeans of Iraq: a people who’s history and culture is documented as far back as the book of Jonah in the Hebrew Bible; a people who are known to have some of the oldest writings of antiquity. They live in fear of Islam; for Chaldeans are mostly Christian and are therefore enemies of the Islamic culture of intimidation and ruthless destruction. Their women must hide under Islamic Burqua garments or face assault and rape by the thuggish radical Moslems in Iraq. Their men and children must obey the commands to prayer or face beatings, dismemberment and beheadings for apostasy. So efficient is the Radical Islamic monster, that many who proclaim loyalty to Islam do so ONLY out of fear. It’s easier to bow to Mecca than bend over for the head-cutters.
The western nations have thought that we are simply doing business in the middle east, coming like the bee to the nectar of the oil fields, willing to share – willing to pay, eager to be friends with the monster. But like Manny, the Islamic monster has another agenda entirely. They sit in front of the nectar as a means to capture and consume the visitor. These Radical Islamics are not oppressed by the leaders of their countries because there isn’t enough money. There’s PLENTY of money. They aren’t oppressed by their leaders because they are trying to gain power, the Sheiks already have the power to tell the world’s most powerful militaries where to go, when to go, when to stop and how long to stay. The reason why the Radicals are oppressed is because the Sheiks know that they have to keep the monster under control or the entire world will go up in flames. Although most Moslems in the west just want to live in peace, a significant portion of them listen to the Radical leaders who want to dominate and destroy the very host societies in which they freely live. Blinded by the apparent placid appearance of the monster when in dangerous places, they assume that the monster is benevolent. They do not see, are not willing to acknowledge, that the monster is indeed a nightmarish beast when loose in a field where it has no fear of anything stronger. It takes the fierce sting of a powerful adversary to keep it placid. Unless we in the west and the rest of the world, and by that I include the “peace loving Moslems of western nations” – unless we are willing to fight and sting the Radical Islamic Monster, we will suffer the fate of the nations who have gone before us and are now under the control of Islamic Radicals.
At present, two thirds of the nations in the Mediterranean are under Islamic rule. At one time, and I mean before Colonialism, those nations were free nations where people could practice ANY religion or no religion. We call them “Christian” nations, because it was Christianity that provided that freedom of thought. Today, however, there are radical and oppressive regimes in control of those lands. It is not by accident. It is due to the efficient and calculated method of the monster. We must face that this is a life and death struggle of civilizations. France will soon be as Islamic as Turkey or Libya, if they don’t find a way to stem the tide. We in the west want to see all countries and people be free and happy; it is the charter of our way of thinking. We may argue about how to achieve this among ourselves, but there is no doubt that the pursuit of happiness is ingrained in our thinking.
This is the main thing which attracts people from around the world to come to western nations; even among the majority of Islamic immigrants – there is a desire to find freedom and happiness. HOWEVER, There is no such desire with the monster of Radical Islam. To ignore this, is to scoff at the greatest peril the world has ever seen. Whether you want to call it Fundamental, or Radical, Islam – it is imperative to acknowledge that we are in a life and death struggle with a committed and efficient monster. It has no concern for our sense of fairness, unless it can use that against us. It has no interest in our freedoms, unless it can exploit them to kill us. It has one desire alone, and that is to defeat us. Such a defeat will be unlike anything the world has ever seen. Many think that a stalemate with this Radicalized Islamic threat, where we pull out from Iraq or Afghanistan, would be like the pull out of Vietnam. i.e Lots of folks would die over there, but it won’t make headlines here. But nothing could be further from the truth. These people are committed to using every means possible to destroy us. Having a safe- haven nation suddenly fall into their own hands would embolden them and give them the time and the means to wreak havoc everywhere. It would give them time and opportunity to find a way to get WMDs into the US and Britain. It would put them in control of the world’s economies by controlling oil outputs. It would enable them to bankrupt the free and open trade of free nations world wide and empower communist nations to also control and conquer more free nations. It would enable them to further radicalize and empower marginal nations like Somalia and Sudan. Can you imagine Somali and Eritrean Warlords with an international bankroll to create havoc around the world? How long will it be until Pakistani Imams are holding city wide rallies of condemnation against every freedom we have valued in America? How long until they use Somali Warlords to train up an army of illiterate inner city youth from across America to take Koran’s out and hold an Islamic inquisition in every state? How long until there is a Taliban agent on every street corner with the authority to whip everyone who defies Sharia law? How long until they cut off the hand of anyone who dares raise it in defiance against their authority from God? How long until the men are wearing beards and the women are wearing burqas in San Francisco?
This monster must be contained or defeated. It cannot be allowed loose. This is a life-and-death struggle for freedom or submission to Islamic Radicalism. They won’t stop in Baghdad if we surrender it to them. The bad guys are playing for keeps.
